Dakota Business Lending is pleased to welcome Cole Keney to their Board of Directors. Keney was elected at the board meeting on June 2, 2021.
Originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, Keney began working for Alerus in 2003 and has spent his entire banking career developing and growing his lending and consulting expertise. He currently serves as a Senior Business Advisor at Alerus in Fargo, working to manage existing and new commercial relationships as well as deliver comprehensive financial advice to clients as their trusted primary point of contact.
Keney has gained valuable experience and expertise from several boards and organizations that he has served on throughout the state. He was a founding board member of Rebuilding Together, and formerly served as a board member of the Fargo/Moorhead AM Rotary Club and RMA North Central Chapter. Keney also served in various roles with the United Way of Cass Clay and the Fargo/Moorhead/West Fargo Chamber of Commerce, and was named one of Prairie Business Magazine’s “40 Under 40” in 2016. He has dedicated his entire career to helping strengthen and grow communities throughout North Dakota, and currently lives in Fargo with his wife and their two daughters.
Dakota Business Lending also bids farewell to outgoing director and Secretary/Treasurer, Rich Becker. First elected in 2014, Becker has served on Dakota Business Lending’s Board of Directors for over 6 years and has been a part of many of the organization’s exciting milestones. He brought with him over 40 years of marketing and management experience in the oil and gas industry and served on several other boards throughout North Dakota, making him a valued member of the board who has provided significant contributions to the success of the company.
The Dakota Business Lending Board is made up of Directors strategically represented throughout the entire state of North Dakota and western Minnesota, who are committed to small business lending and economic growth in Dakota Business Lending’s entire service area. Other current directors include Chair Jim Hambrick, Vice Chair Tonya Holmstrom, newly elected Secretary/Treasurer Jason Hopfauf, as well as Mike Connor, John Phillips, Dan Jacobson, Kim Kautzman, and Steve Gehrtz.
