As part of the SBA's “Made in America” initiative, the SBA is continuing to expand financing opportunities for manufacturers.
Effective July 4, 2026, eligible manufacturers may benefit from these new SBA 504 financing policies.
What Changed?
Eligible manufacturers can now finance multiple SBA 504 projects at the same time.
Why It Matters
Manufactures can now break down expansion projects into multiple 504 applications simultaneously, with each application subject to the $5.5M cap.
Previously, an expansion was considered one project and one application to SBA. Now those projects can be broken down into separate real estate and equipment applications submitted at the same time.
For example, an expanding manufacturer could finance:
- A $5.5M SBA 504 loan for a new facility, AND
- A separate $5.5M SBA 504 loan for equipment
This policy change creates significantly more financing capacity for manufacturers, helping to expand operations, improve efficiency, and meet growing demand.
